Drive, Fly, or Sail In

The Island Fish Co. Tiki Bar & Restaurant is the only restaurant in the Florida Keys that you can reach by land, air (that is if you own a helicopter) or sea.

The Island has its own licensed heliport located at the north end of the parking lot. We have only one roadway in or out of the Keys: U.S. 1, which goes right by our Island. The Gulf of Mexico runs right up to our back door and the Atlantic Ocean is at our fingertips by way of Vaca Cut channel. You have so many options to reach our laid back atmosphere, great food and friendly staff.

By Air

Pilots… Set your GPS settings to MTH. This will take you to the airport. The Island is located two miles east of the Marathon Airport off the end of departure runway 7. The airport has no tower, but you may call in advance on Unicom 122.8 to clear air traffic for landing on the heliport at the Island.

If you don’t have access to a helicopter, you can fly your private aircraft into Marathon Airport. From the Jet Center (they have 2 courtesy cars, first- come, first-served) you turn left onto U.S. 1 and travel 2.2 miles. This will take you through two stoplights. You will make the first left turn into the Island after passing through the third stoplight at Sadowsi Causeway, KCB.

The Marathon Terminal offers four rental car companies: Hertz, Avis, Enterprise and Budget. If you are renting a car from the Terminal, turn left onto U.S. 1 at the exit. Travel 2.1 miles to the left turn into the Island Fish Co.

Paradise Aviation is also at the airport. They offer to call Enterprise for your convenience. Leaving Paradise Aviation, you turn left onto U.S. 1 and travel 1.7 miles to the left turn into the Island parking lot.

By Sea

The Island Fish Co. is located Bayside at the GPS setting 24 43.988 N, 81 01.140 W. You can reach the Island from either the Bay or the Atlantic Ocean. If you are boating on the Oceanside, you would start through Vaca Cut channel at Marker 1. Following the markers through the channel out to Marker 14, head a little east around the marker and back toward the Island. LOTS OF FUN IN THE SUN!!!

By Land

Leaving Miami, you may take the Florida Turnpike (Exit 874), which will end you on U.S. 1 in Florida City. Stay on U.S. 1, otherwise known as the Overseas Hwy in the Keys. You will travel approximately 80 miles through the various Keys: Key Largo, Tavernier, Plantation, Islamorada, Layton, Long Key, Conch Key, Duck Key, Grassy Key and lastly, Marathon city limits. This drive will consume about 1 and 1/2 hours. The first light you will go through is at Coco Plum. From that light, you will be 3/10ths of a mile from the right turn into the Island Fish Co parking lot. LET THE FEAST AND FUN BEGIN!!!

Coming from Key West and the Lower Keys, you will travel on the Old Overseas Highway to Mile Marker 54.5. Once you reach the 7 Mile Bridge and cross the 6.8 mile distance, start your odometer counting 7 miles. This should put you at the Island’s left turn lane and into our parking lot. If you have small children, FEED THE FISH and UNWIND A LITTLE!!!
